We firmly believe that the power of digital technologies should be leveraged to positively change our societies, connect people, and provide services that would not be available otherwise. We do not consider digital transformation as a goal in itself. With this in mind, we collaborate with our clients to identify and harness the opportunities that technology and innovation create to improve people’s lives, while being aware that introducing digital technologies at a large scale is a complex exercise. We work closely with our clients and their ecosystem to identify a holistic portfolio of interconnected digital initiatives and to define a practical approach for their implementation and governance in the real world, creating a solid foundation to achieve tangible economic, social and environmental benefits.

DIGITAL SOLUTIONS
Designing a digital solution that can potentially affect the lives of a large number of people is not an easy task. Technology is helping connect people, organisations and ecosystems, but such connections create increasing complexity that needs to be carefully managed. Therefore, the introduction of impactful digital technologies cannot be achieved by looking only at the technical side. Regulatory, organisational, economic and social aspects cannot be overlooked and often determine whether a digital initiative is successful or not. Our way of designing digital solutions for our clients reflect this understanding: we adopt a community-based user-centred approach to listen to all relevant voices, ensuring that all aspects are taken into account and that the most pressuring issues are successfully addressed by the final solution.
PILOT AND EXPERIMENT
Even the best ideas need to be properly validated before being adopted and implemented. Due to the inherent complexity of large-scale solutions – from a regulatory, governance, organisational and technical standpoints - even the most careful design cannot anticipate all the issues which could happen in the real world. Piloting and prototyping at small scale the proposed solution helps refine and correct any issues that are hard to foresee at design time, or to select the best way forward if multiple options are available. To maximise value, experimentation should be done with all involved parties, in a structured and collaborative way. We help our clients setting up their pilots, defining their scope, onboarding all actors, monitoring their execution and deriving and disseminate the key lessons, which will be crucial for large-scale adoption.
NURTURE INNOVATION
It is nowadays common knowledge that innovation, including the adoption of new technologies, is a key driver for solving complex social issues and for supporting a positive and sustainable evolution of communities. Organisations are well aware that innovation doesn’t just happen because somebody has a good idea. An open culture needs to be nourished within the organisation and in the communities around them, where everybody feels that all ideas are welcome and taken into consideration. At the same time, a structured approach for the generation, selection and development of ideas needs to be put in place and effectively executed. Together with our clients, we strive to create right environment to nurture innovation: we engage the relevant actors, we define and communicate clear innovation goals and objectives, we set up the relevant innovation processes and support their execution.
